The case for coming in summer
Forty degrees outside, twenty-two inside, and half the visitors. The season locals quietly prefer.
From June to September the country turns inward, and it is very good at inward. Museums are empty, aquaria are cold, cinemas are enormous, and the rates are the lowest of the year by a wide margin.
The rhythm shifts rather than stops: early mornings by the water, the middle of the day indoors, and everything social after eight in the evening. The mountains help too — Jebel Jais runs several degrees cooler than the coast all year.
It is also the honest season for food. Liwa's date festival is held in July because that is when the dates come in, and no amount of marketing will move it to a cooler month.
