An east-coast Emirate of rugged mountain roads, historic forts and clear water opening directly onto the Gulf of Oman.
The east coast, and the only emirate facing the Gulf of Oman. Snorkel the reefs off Snoopy Island, swim from the golden sand at Al Aqah, and stand in Al Bidyah — the oldest mosque in the country, built of mud and stone and still in use. The road transfer from Dubai takes around 82 minutes and crosses the Hajar mountains on the way.
